    WCSB disparity

    Looking over the school system's website, I'm amazed at the disproportional representation on the school board.

    Eight members on the board. Two each from Wise, Appalachia, St Paul, and Big Stone Gap.

    Methinks the districts are more than a little screwed up.

    That is because of the way they have the county split. Coeburn is represented by 2 different people one from St. Paul the other from Wise.

    How hard would it be to have a representative from each town and two others from outside the county or at least voted in by the entire county.

    ahh....the result of a little gerrymandering a few years back.
